Gelato Brings Smiles

What is Gelato?

Gelato is a frozen dessert originating in Italy.

Gelato is a frozen dessert made with a base of milk and sugar. It is generally lower in fat than other styles of ice cream. Gelato typically contains less air and more flavoring than other kinds of frozen desserts, giving it a density and richness that distinguishes it from other ice cream.

The difference between gelato and Ice cream is that gelato doesn’t have eggs, and gelato is made with milk rather than cream. Gelato is considered the grown-up version to ice cream.

We have a perfect gelato shop in town. Canarino Gelato is a gem of a dessert spot in Edmonds, Washington It was the perfect spot to stop and grab this delicious treat.

When planning sessions, I start by asking parents I what scenery they love, what scenery will blend if these images become wall art. The answer to these questions helps me sort out the perfect location. I also consider what will help children have fun. The goal is to get the genuine smiles we love from our kids.  Mom’s request for this session was that we do something different and fun for the kids. When I think of kids having fun it usually involves ice cream in our house. Turns out it brings fun for these kids also.

I know its considered the grown-up version of ice cream, but these kids didn’t care to them this was the best day ever. They loved eating gelato and being silly for the camera. I love bringing smiles to kids’ faces, seeing the true childlike happiness in each of them.
