Planning~

I’d love to hear what you want and ask a few quick questions. If you want me to plan the session, I can do that. If you prefer to help plan, we can talk by phone or email—share your ideas or any images you like for inspiration. I’ll email a few questions about colors, looks, location vibes, outfits, and other details. Some sessions, like weddings or branding, need a planning consult.

Pacific Northwest Weather~

You’re wondering how to schedule with unpredictable weather. I may not set a strict time when you book, instead blocking a time window. I don’t usually shoot in heavy rain unless it suits the look, but I’ll adjust when I can — offering later times the same day if possible. I also have indoor backup ideas and clear umbrellas ready.

Locations~

I offer family, high school senior, maternity, and engagement sessions at a custom location. I choose the location about a week before the shoot (it may change for weather or other issues). If you want an adventurous outdoor shoot, I’m happy to do that. Once your session is booked, I’ll send questions to help pick a spot from a list I’ve scouted. I choose locations for light, access, and seasonal appeal, and I check the area beforehand for rain or problems. I also bring blankets or stools for kids when needed.

Clothing and Styling~

I’m good at coordinating outfits for individuals and groups. For sessions, I ask clients to send photos of clothing so outfits match the props and location. I’ve also written a few blogs on this—see the Blog section.

Newborn Sessions~

Newborn sessions take place in my studio using my props, wraps, and backdrops. You don’t need to bring anything unless you have a special item you want included. In-home newborn sessions are available by request.

Before the session you’ll get an email with preparation tips—ask any questions you have. I have tricks to help when young siblings are present, and I’m happy to handle toddler distractions (yes, even singing Baby Shark). Parents can relax during the session. In-home newborn sessions are offered

What’s Next~

After each session I pick the best images that fit my vision. I send them in a personal gallery link to your email. Gallery links expire, so download your photos to multiple places. Standard delivery is 3–4 weeks; a 1-week rush option is available on request. I try to post a sneak peek on Instagram 1–2 weeks after the session—follow @verbphotographyllc to see it first.
